Latest Nissan News For Seattle, Tacoma, And Bellevue Washington
Recently, the Automotive Science Group (ASG), a data-driven research group established by Eco-innovations, LLC, recognized four of Nissan’s automobiles as part of the annual 11-category evaluation of cars they conduct in order to determine those with the finest all-around performance and greatest economic contribution.
Here’s how it all breaks down: The 2019 Kicks won the "Best Economic Performance" award in the compact crossover segment as a result of its dedication to low annual operating costs; similarly, the 2019 Rogue was recognized with this honor in the mid-size SUV segment, managing to best 184 other machines in the process. Also, the 2019 Versa earned the "Best 5 All-Around Performance” honor in the small car competition, while the 2019 LEAF graced the same award in the mid-large size group. Finally, the Rogue and Kicks also earned this distinction in the SUV and crossover segments, respectively, as a result of combined economic, environmental, and social performance ratings.
Big news out of the Big Apple this week! The CONVERGE event in New York City on July 12 is being presented by Nissan and Outpost, and will feature art installments, a private concert and, most importantly, profound discussion on the future of technology.
The CONVERGE event will feature industry leaders participating in workshops and keynotes that place a focus on progressive technology and, particularly, electrification in the automobile space. Notably, the event site is close to the ABB FIA Formula E Championship race in Brooklyn, where the Nissan-sponsored e.dams racing team will compete to showcase the future of racing power in a doubleheader season finale.
"CONVERGE and Formula E racing allows Nissan the opportunity to highlight our leadership in the EV space and our commitment to moving people to a better world through innovative technology and Nissan Intelligent Mobility," said Allyson Witherspoon, vice president of marketing and communications, Nissan North America. As far as current technology, Nissan’s LEAF is now the first electric car ever to surpass 400,000 unit sales, making it arguably the best-selling EV of all time.
Excellent news today, Kirkland and Seattle residents! Nissan has four vehicles that have been recognized in an annual economic study: the LEAF, Versa, Rogue, and Kicks.
Each of Nissan’s machines earned honors via the Automotive Science Group (ASG), a data-driven research group founded by Eco-innovations, LLC. The group performs an 11-category evaluation annually of various vehicles in order to determine economic and all-around performance. The 2019 Kicks won the "Best Economic Performance" award in the compact crossover segment thanks to the lowest operating costs in comparison to the other automobiles considered.
The 2019 Rogue also won this award in the mid-size SUV segment, beating out 184 other cars. The 2019 LEAF was a "Best 5 All-Around Performance” winner in the mid-large size car group, while the 2019 Versa earned that distinction in the small car segment. The Kicks and Rogue also won this award in the crossover and SUV segments, respectively, thanks to their combined social, environmental and economic performance ratings.
Kirkland and Seattle residents, you’ve likely heard wonderful things about Nissan’s all-electric vehicle (EV), the LEAF. It provides today’s drivers with the technology of tomorrow, after all. However, did you realize that it also now has a claim to the lofty title of “best-selling electric vehicle of all time?”
It’s true—the machine hit the 400,000 sale unit mark in March. And if you didn’t realize the above fact, Nissan is proudly making it known via their new “Freedom to Move” campaign that launched this past week. It features world-record-holding professional wingsuit flyer and base jumper, Roberta Mancino, enjoying a glide through the air—in fact, Mancino has more than 10,000 skydives to her name. Additionally, she is seen enjoying the new LEAF Plus, which provides owners with a 226-mile range on just one charge.
"In the past, a lot of electric vehicle advertising focused on the technology alone and neglected to tell the unique story of how driving an electric car makes you feel," said Allyson Witherspoon, vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, Nissan North America. "We have found that people who experience EV driving really love the quick acceleration, the quiet cabin and all the intelligent technology that make driving less stressful. It really is a joy to drive an EV and few do it better than our best-selling LEAF.”
“Overlanding” is outdoor adventuring experienced by individuals willing to endure harsh conditions and traverse extreme terrains. Typically, all such attempts at previous overlanding were accomplished with super expensive, modified trucks and SUVs—however, Nissan felt they could do better. They got to work, and the result of their efforts has led to the “Destination Frontier,” a one-off truck design that was created for only $40,000.
The designers at Nissan started with a 2019 Frontier Crew Cab SV 4x4 Midnight Edition as a base and then modified accordingly. Changes include the addition of Nitto Trail Grappler off-road tires, American Racing AX201 wheels, a 3-inch Nisstec lift kit, and body/drivetrain protection, among other tweaks.
A little information on that standard 2019 Nissan Frontier that the Destination is based upon (and that can actually be experienced at dealerships nationwide): It comes with a 4.0-liter DOHC V6 engine that pushes out 261 horses and 281 lb-ft of torque. It can also tow up to 6,720 pounds.
Kirkland residents, in case you missed it, Nissan launched a big ad campaign centered around the fact that the Nissan LEAF has a claim to the “best-selling vehicle of all time” title.
The Freedom to Move campaign launched this past weekend and depicts Roberta Mancino, a world-record-holding professional wingsuit flyer and base jumper, gliding through the air doing what she does best—after all, Mancino has more than 10,000 skydives to her credit. She is also shown enjoying the lengthy range of the new LEAF Plus, which gets up to 226 miles on one full charge.
It really is a joy to drive an EV and few do it better than our best-selling LEAF." Notably, the LEAF was the first electric car in history to hit the 400,000 sales unit milestone in March. Since 2010, it’s been revolutionizing the industry.
Nissan’s been doing some serious good again, Kirkland residents! Here’s the scoop—the automaker has announced that, in honor of the Grand Canyon national park and its 100-year anniversary, that they will be donating the Ultimate Parks TITAN to the Grand Canyon Conservancy as part of their partnership with the National Park Foundation.
The Ultimate Parks TITAN is a purpose-built park support vehicle that will offer the youth opportunities in the great outdoors (and specifically in the Grand Canyon National Park), thereby assisting with the park’s Canyon Field School.
The Ultimate Parks TITAN has been smartly based off the 2019 Nissan TITAN XD Gas PRO-4X Crew Cab. As a result, it comes with a 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 engine that kicks out 390 horses and 394 lb-ft of torque. Further, it comes packed with a four-wheel-drive system that enhances traction.
"Nissan is proud to support the outstanding work being performed, trail-by-trail, campsite-by-campsite, by partners like the National Park Foundation, Grand Canyon Conservancy and Arizona Conservation Corps," remarked Tiago Castro, director, Light Commercial Vehicles, Nissan North America, Inc.”
As it turns out, the sedan segment is hotter than ever before.
Recent survey results suggest that four-door cars are as beloved as ever, particularly among American millennials. The latest figures, as commissioned by Nissan, suggest that 78% of those individuals in the aforementioned age range that do not own a sedan would consider buying one.
The time couldn’t be better for such a purchase. The sixth-generation Altima is now available, supplying powerful ProPILOT Assist technology. It now offers lower and wider proportions than previously seen, creating a more athletic stance. Also, Nissan’s latest sedan effort—the brand-new Versa—offers a fresh design that looks amazing and pushes the sub-compact segment forward.
"We see great opportunity in the sedan segment, which is why we're continuing to launch all-new and refreshed products," said Rob Warren, director and chief marketing manager at Nissan North America. "Sedans are still extremely popular with our customers, so as our competitors exit the category, they're creating even more prospects for Nissan."
In case you aren’t aware, “overlanding” is a form of outdoor adventuring that has its participants cross extreme terrains and endure wild climate conditions. Traditionally, it’s solely been the domain of uber-expensive modified SUVs and trucks… but no longer. Nissan’s “Destination Frontier” one-off truck is ridiculously capable for these situations—and was created for only approximately $40,000.
The Nissan crew began with the 2019 Frontier Crew Cab SV 4x4 Midnight Edition as a base and went from there. Modifications include body/drivetrain protection for off-roading and associated obstacles; improved ground clearance; a 3-inch Nisstec lift kit; and Nitto Trail Grappler off-road tires with American Racing AX201 wheels, among other tweaks.
In its unmodified base form, the 2019 Nissan Frontier offers a 4.0-liter DOHC V6 engine that cranks out 261 horses and 281 lb-ft of torque. With it, the Frontier can tow up to 6,720 pounds.
The amazing Nissan Destination Frontier will be displayed at the 2019 Overland Expo West on May 17 - 19 at Ft. Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, Arizona. Call us to learn more today!
Nissan’s up to some good things, Tacoma! The company announced this week that, in honor of the Grand Canyon’s 100-year anniversary as a national park, the automaker will be donating the Ultimate Parks TITAN purpose-built park support vehicle to the Grand Canyon Conservancy.
The donation comes as part of Nissan’s partnership with the National Park Foundation. The Ultimate Parks TITAN support vehicle will assist the Grand Canyon Conservancy’s Canyon Field School by offering opportunities for youths to enjoy everything the great outdoors has to offer and, specifically, the amazing qualities of the Grand Canyon National Park.
The Ultimate Parks TITAN is based on the 2019 Nissan TITAN XD Gas PRO-4X Crew Cab. As such, it is powered by the 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 engine which produces 390 HP and 394 lb-ft of torque. All-terrain traction is offered through the sophisticated four-wheel-drive system, too.
"Nissan is proud to support the outstanding work being performed, trail-by-trail, campsite-by-campsite, by partners like the National Park Foundation, Grand Canyon Conservancy and Arizona Conservation Corps," remarked Tiago Castro, director, Light Commercial Vehicles, Nissan North America, Inc. "This custom-built TITAN XD 4x4 and trailer should help make their important work in remote areas of the park a little easier, safer and hopefully even a little more comfortable.”
